Submitted by: Patient from Auckland
Ward: Ward 3
I am originally from Auckland, but was involved in a car accident near Whangārei, which led to me being admitted to Ward 3 at Whangārei Hospital.

I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for the incredible staff here – every single person has been helpful, kind, and thoughtful. This hospital is truly wonderful, and there is a strong sense of community throughout the ward, with everyone looking out for and helping each other.

Thank you for providing such exceptional care and creating a warm, supportive environment.

Our daughter spent the last two days in hospital with an infection. We are very thankful for the care that she received. All staff, from the emergency department to children's ward were friendly and attentive. We felt comfortable and well treated. There was a long wait in the emergency department upon arrival and we hope that this issue will be sorted out soon for the sake of the doctors and nurses who are working so hard so give the best care for their patients. A huge thank you to all of you.

Just spent a week in Whangārei hospital (unplanned) and got major surgery. The entire team have been fantastic. Not just kind, patient and friendly but also really switched on to the small details. They made me feel very safe in their hands.

Wards were clean, food was surprisingly very tasty, everything ran smoothly despite healthcare being so underresourced.
