It’s me Wendy 😄got home about 1:00 am last night. Thanks everyone. About the waiting time, I think everyone is busy nowadays especially in the hospital. One doctor looks after so many patients plus us walking in emergency patients. Doctors n nurses work overnight shifts till early morning hardest job ever. So I think we should be tolerant. Greenlane hospital is a nice , neat, very clean and home oriented environment, DR Mathew didn’t serve me but I could see the team here was very compassionate and helpful. Sometimes if you got sick then we got frustrated easily. Miss Li ( Chinese girl) and I both served by a Korean doctor, forgot to ask his name lol very friendly and gentleman. I think when you come to see an eye doctor it’s better to come with your friend just like Brian n her gf took him to the hospital coz’ the doctor could do a full examination of our retina then we can’t drive home.But don’t worry I can go to an eye institute to do that again.One more thing, when visitors arrive the hospital, we should inform the receptionist that for example Wendy Pan has arrived then receptionist team will load our notes into the system then our names will be in the waiting list and the doctors will know we’re here and how many walk-in patients today. I thought it was electronic so I have waited for six hours nobody noticed that Wendy Pan was here already lol 🥰l live in West Auckland now. I miss those days that I used to live in Newmarket my favorite place 😌

Although the clinic staff are excellent,the bookings and repeat appointments are not! they are difficult to get hold of and delays in appointments seem to be routine.
My mother has injections for her wet retinal degeneration, the appointment for the initial category 1 ( ie urgent - may go blind if untreated - I took her privately to get the treatment started  ASAP but ongoing this is not something she can afford ) it then took 8 weeks and that was only because I rang up and got a cancellation spot, these injections were according to the Dr we saw at that first appointment, supposed to be every 6 weeks  initially and then hopefully if she continued to respond well the frequency could be reduced, but after the 1st appointment the follow-up 2nd injection was 8 weeks out and I’m still waiting for the next which has again been 8 weeks so far and not heard yet when it will be.
If treatment schedules are recorded I expect it is important they are followed, but so far this is not happening,

The most ridiculous wait times for the eye clinic. Appointment was at 9am but that wasn’t even to see a doctor it was to see a nurse but even that we weren’t even seen by a nurse till 10am. After which, we were put back into the waiting rooms to wait for a doctor. We weren’t seen by a doctor till 1:30pm.

If you’re gonna come here, be prepared for the most ridiculous wait times ever. However, the nurses and staff have excellent service. There just needs to be a better flow of these waiting times. Especially cause most patients don’t know about the wait times and then are told by nurses to go have lunch but cafeteria is so expensive. And you have to pay for parking too! Need to start giving a heads up to patients regarding the long wait before they even come to their appointment so they can prepare lunch and plan out their day. A whole day of plans gone to waste from all this waiting:(

We might aswell sit and wait for the 2nd coming too lol
