As a mother , I couldn’t be more grateful for the entire team at Little Pohutukawa. The teachers, manager, and owner — everyone is simply amazing. From the beginning, I’ve seen such a positive change in my baby, and I truly believe it’s all because of the love, care, and dedication this team puts in every single thing they do.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to all the amazing teachers, and a very special thank you to the owner for building such a beautiful space for our little ones.

It was an amazing daycare with great teachers before the new owner came onboard in November 2024. Most of the good teachers left within three months, the menu was changed to cut costs and the children were always hungry, air conditioning was not turned on during summer save on power, we were wrongly charged for holiday payments and was never resolved by the owner. In the end we had to urgently find new daycare and it was a very stressful time. Maybe things have changed since then but I feel much safer with my child in the current daycare than Little Pohutukawa.

Little Pohutukawa Preschool is amazing!
My son started at this beautiful preschool this year when he was only 1 year old. As a mum, my biggest concern was how he would settle, since he is very attached to me. It’s never easy to leave your child somewhere new. But to my surprise, he settled so quickly – within the first week! By the second week, he was already enjoying going to preschool.
The teachers are absolutely lovely and give such great care to all the children. My son is so attached to his teachers, and they have supported him with everything – from eating, sleeping, and even taking his bottle. He has started saying more words, becoming more active, and exploring new activities like painting, holding a pencil, playing with magnets, sand play, climbing, and sliding. Seeing his learning and growth makes me so happy, and I can work without stress, knowing he is well cared for.
The food at the preschool is also amazing – Daisy makes yummy, healthy meals. When I pick my boy up, the teachers always tell me how well he has eaten, and I can also see it on his log. As a mum, you just know when your child has eaten well – he looks full, content, and happy, not hungry or upset. That gives me so much peace of mind. Roslyn, the owner is such a lovely and friendly person who truly cares about the children and their whanau. Laurelle, the centre supervisor, is also so wonderful and connected with the children. She makes sure everything runs smoothly, and my boy absolutely loves playing with her.
I really appreciate how the preschool celebrates festivals and special events. They support cultural & community with things like Daffodil Day fundraising, and also celebrate Matariki, Holi, and now the upcoming Father’s Day. This is such a great way for children to learn about different cultures, traditions, and the world around them.
The centre has a big play area for children to explore, and there are always so many fun and educational activities happening every day.
I highly recommend Little Pohutukawa Preschool to any parents looking for a nurturing, caring, and learning-focused environment for their child. You must visit and see the beautiful environment and learning happening here before making your choice.
