My daughter joined Koru just after she turned two, and she spent three happy, fulfilling years there.
The teachers truly put Montessori’s educational philosophy into practice. Over those three years, she’s grown into a child who knows how to take care of herself and share love with the people around her. The teachers also laid a strong foundation for her reading and maths, and she genuinely loves learning and reading.
We feel incredibly lucky that our daughter had the opportunity to be part of Koru and to learn from such a wonderful team of teachers.

Always drawn to the Montessori philosophy, we visited seven Montessori schools — both near and far — before choosing Koru, and we were never disappointed.

Our daughter started at Koru at just 2.3 years old, and she didn’t just grow there — she truly thrived. We are assured of her ongoing education because of the strong foundation that she’s built at Koru.

What we love most about Koru is the everyday curriculum, which thoughtfully helps tamariki develop strong values, essential life skills, and intellectual curiosity. The close, genuine connections between whānau and the school make you feel supported and inclusive.

Krystal, the centre manager, was always accountable, professional, and approachable. The teachers are talented, diligent, and deeply committed to the tamarikis in their care. A special mention to our daughter’s primary care teacher, Clarisse — she has set the bar incredibly high for what an early childhood educator should be like.

Even though most mornings involved at least a 30-minute commute, we never once considered switching schools. That alone validated how exceptional Koru is.

A heart-felt gratitude to the entire Koru team- you will always be missed. Last but not least, you deserve a longer waitlist 😆

Our daughter attended Koru Montessori preschool from age 3 to 5, and it has been such a beautiful start to her learning journey. The teachers supported her to become independent, follow her interests, and grow in confidence while always encouraging kindness and fairness. We loved how the preschool celebrates culture and differences, helping children respect and value each other from such a young age.

As parents, it was incredible to see the foundation this gave her. Since moving on to primary school, she has continued to thrive — even receiving a certificate each year for her learning and effort. We know her preschool years played a big role in building that confidence and love of learning.

I was also fortunate to be part of the teaching team here, and I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences. The environment is warm, respectful, and inspiring, not only for the children but also for the educators. I’ve made lifelong friendships with the community that I will always treasure.

We are so grateful for the love, care, and inspiration Koru Montessori has given our family. It is truly a place where children are nurtured to become confident, kind, and joyful learners. Love you with all my heart Krystal, Saori, and Clarisse
