We absolutely love our Koru Kids whānau! 🌿 We’re so grateful to have found such a beautiful, safe, and supportive environment for our babies. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing we’re leaving them with people we trust. The kaiako are kind, patient, and genuinely care about each tamaiti like they’re part of the family. A bonus is that the kids are also fed nutritious, well-balanced meals — such a great support for busy parents like us! 💚 Thank you Team!!

I am deeply disappointed with my experience at Koru Kids Early Learning Centre. I entrusted this school with my 3 and half year old son’s safety and well-being, but what I encountered was far from what I expected.

My son returned home with visible injuries on 2 separate days at the same place on his leg (deep cuts which were bleeding), and when I raised the issue with the teacher and owner of the daycare, I was met with denial and a shocking lack of accountability. Instead of addressing the situation compassionately, they failed to take responsibility for what had occurred. It is heart-wrenching to see these injury marks on my little one, and I feel utterly disheartened by the lack of care and professionalism.

My son is able to name which teacher (Shivika) did this to him and how it was done. Given my professional background, I have no time to waste on complaints etc and if my child experienced any injury outside the school, like any mother I would obviously attend to the medical needs. Why on earth would I waste time going down the complaint tracks to add on unnecessary stress at the expense of my little one? He received these injuries during toilet training in the toilet. When I confronted the teacher and asked her who was on toilet duty the previous day, she immediately took another teacher’s name. I asked to see the toilet training chart and was not surprised to see Shivika’s initials at 3 different times. She knew what she had done which is why she immediately took another teacher’s name.

This matter could have been resolved amicably and professionally if the school had taken accountability instead of establishing that the injuries did not happen in school.

Instead of taking responsibility for their staff's actions, the administration chose to protect the teacher at all costs. It’s unbelievable that a school meant to nurture young minds would prioritize a staff member over a child's safety and well-being.

As a parent, I believe that schools should be safe havens for our children. Unfortunately, my experience at Koru Kids has shattered that trust.

I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Koru Kids to anyone looking for a safe learning environment for their child. If you're considering Koru Kids, please do your research and think twice about the safety and well-being of your little one. Do yourselves a favor and look elsewhere—your child's safety should always come first!
