We visited so many daycares and kindergartens around Whangārei, and our son just didn’t connect with any of them. The moment we walked into Tōtara Educare, the difference was obvious. The staff were genuinely welcoming, and that wairua was felt straight away. On his very first visit, our son didn’t cling to me like he had at every other place — he was off exploring, comfortable, and happy. That alone spoke volumes.

When we began transitioning him into full‑time care, the kaimahi were absolutely amazing. They were comforting, attentive, and so warm with him, which made it so much easier for us to leave him each day knowing he was surrounded by people who truly cared.

Something that meant a lot to us as a busy whānau was how understanding and accommodating they were when I struggled to pick him up on time due to work commitments. Without any hesitation, they allowed us to extend his hours, even without notice. That level of support is rare, and we are so grateful.

Our boy absolutely loves this place, and as a whānau of five, it brings us so much peace knowing our pēpi is somewhere he is cared for, valued, and happy. Tōtara Educare has a beautiful wairua, and we couldn’t recommend them more.
